If they are competent in MMA specific resistance training then yeah. But if their focus in on competitive weightlifting only then no. Olympic lifts should be part of any serious MMA athletes workout program, but they should be incorporated in a functional-strength MMA conditioning circuit and not done exclusively. Whether the strength coach has the capability of designing such a program depends largely on the trainer regardless of his certification. For example, I’m a certified CSCS through the NSCA and specialize in MMA strength and conditioning even though I never had any direct instruction on “how to design a program for an MMA athlete”, I just applied what I learned and have been successful. On the other hand there are some CSCS trainers that would not be qualified to train MMA athletes because they specialize in other areas or general s&c.
