Mma Conditioning Workout
starting mma in a few months?
need to do some conditioning day to day with my weight, cardio machines and weight machines. i heard its important so if anyone has some tips or workouts that would be great thanks
RUN
you need to strengthen your heart and increase the amount of oxygen your blood can carry, this will greatly improve your overall endurance and be more beneficial to your training than any weightlifting you can do at this point. take a 15 minute run, push yourself! see how far you can make it. run once a day or as often as you can, keep track of how far you are able to go. your first few sessions will be very hard but don’t be discouraged, after a week or two running will become so easy you will feel like you have MORE energy after your run. Once your body gets used to it it shouldn’t interfere with your other training at all, it wont even feel like a workout.
As for strength, running will give you more energy, make you feel stronger, and improve your muscular endurance already, besides that just focus on your mma class. don’t try to start a lifting program just yet. If are giving your all during class and not slacking during the exercises and grappling then you should be so tired by the end that lifting isn’t even an option. this is the kind of exercise that makes you’re muscles faster, stronger, and burns fat all at the same time. once you can put forth maximum effort during your mma class and still have energy afterward then it is time to start implementing weight training. On your days off from class, RUN!
