Mma Karate Studio
how can i fight in MMA Tournaments if im not apart of a studio?
i live in a rural area and there are no martial arts studios or training facilities. a few of my friends and i are trying to start a fight club so we can train but we have nobody with actual MMA training ability. i have a 1st degree brown belt in American Kenpo Karate, and my buddy has been wrestling for like 12 years. my other friend took boxing for about 14 years. i haven’t practiced in like 4 years and want to get back in shape to try my luck in MMA. so basically my questions is what do we have to do to be able to book fights and train for them. thank you
In Iowa, Utah, Nebraska, and some other states have fewer rules and you don’t have to belong to a big time gym. This also applies on Indian Reservations. Some states have you register with an athletic commission. It depends on the state restrictions, some make you pay quite a bit in fees and proof of health insurance.
Go to Youtube and look at Gladiator Challenge, Extreme Challenge, MCC, VCC events or King of the Cage. There is a good article about a fighter in Iowa at mmablaster.blogspot.com.
