Online Mma Techniques
A good place to learn technique online?
I took MMA at a really good gym for about 4 months but because of ever rising gas prices and the fact that the guy I went with doesn’t go anymore so I can’t carpool, the 40 minute trip is too hard on my wallet now.
I’ve been keeping up and doing “garage training” but the only problem is that I don’t learn anything new. I’m pretty good at Jiu-Jitsu and have learned a bunch from www.grapplersguide.com, but I need a site that is kinda like that for wrestling or Muay Thai. I’m really lacking at learning to do takedowns.
Any suggestions. Grapplers Guide was kind of under the radar so I’m hoping that maybe there are some more like that.
I would highly recommend the ‘bas rutten mma workout tapes and video’.
And a heavy bag…
OK, they won’t be much good for learning proper technique ( you can find online videos for that here: http://muaythai.me/basic_techniques.php and here: http://muaythai.me/basictechniques2.php ), but the bas rutten tapes will give you some very demanding workouts. You can shadow box with them, but it is better to work the bag, and there are some fitness workouts too that mix bag work with body weight exercise.
They’re not a free resource (though a lot of people download them illegally off limewire or other filesharing networks), but they are they are worth every penny they cost.
I know professional mixed martial artists who use them when travelling, which is commendation enough
