Ufc 49 Fight Card

Has UFC Swallowed up Boxing?

I know right now if I were forced to spend my 49.99 on a boxing pay per view or a ufc pay per view, Im goin UFC no matter who is fighting on either card…Boxing is just down right boring especially since the best boxers are all sub 150 lbs…defend boxing or ufc.

I like both, but I watch boxing more. UFC has the better quality fighters, meaning it is packed with talent in virtually every division, even though the heavyweight division is kind of thin, its still better than boxing’s dismal heavyweight division. With fighters like Anderson Silva, BJ Penn, and Quinton Jackson, I am liking the ufc more after each successive PPV event. I feel like the UFC now is what boxing was in the 50’s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s.
Boxing seems to have a lot of dry divisions. The only really good division is some of the lighter-weight divisions and the light heavyweight division. Cruiserweights are getting better too, however, I feel what hurts boxing the most is not the lack of good fighters, but the lack of good match-ups. We waited years for samuel peter and oleg to fight, we are still waiting on a klitschko-peter rematch, which is not happening anytime soon, and we are still waiting to see miguel cotto and maywether fight, the nate campebell/joel casamayor fight has yet to materialize, joshua clottey still hasn’t gotten his rematch with antonio maragarito or his title shot, david haye didn’t fight steve cunningham. This is unaccaeptable. In the UFC, all the match-ups make sense and make for exciting television. There is almost no such thing as a “tune-up” fight in the ufc.
Another reason why I like the ufc is because fighters almost never get robbed of a decision, the right fighter almost always wins, whereas in boxing, i feel like too many good fighters get robbed of decisions. Overall, I feel like boxing is better than it has been in the past few years and is still getting better, but I am finding more and more reasons to like the UFC.
