UFC: Armbar submission finishes,?
My Cousin Complained well playing UFC 2010 for the Xbox 360, That no one uses submissions in the UFC Because I always go for submissions.
I was wondering if you could list some UFC Fighters past/Hall of Famers or Present that used the armbar or other submission hold to finish off most of their matches.
The art of the submission is what brazilian juijitsu is based around, which The Gracie Family brought BJJ to America when they created the UFC.
For UFC and MMA Hall of Famers that use submissions:
Royce Gracie – 14 wins, 3 losses, 3 draws; 12 wins by submission
Ken Shamrock – 27 wins, 14 losses, 2 draws; 23 wins by submission (note, most of Shamrock’s losses came within the last 8 years.. after he should have retired)
Bas Rutten – 28 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw; 13 wins by submission
For current UFC fighters:
Demian Maia – 13 wins, 2 losses; 8 wins by submission
Frank Mir – 13 wins, 5 losses; 8 wins by submission
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira – 32 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw; 20 wins by submission
Fedor Emelianenko – 31 wins, 2 losses; 16 wins by submission
Fabricio Werdum – 14 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw; 8 wins by submission
There are many more.. but I think you get the point.
