Ufc Fighters Salaries
Can anyone tell me the average salary per fight in UFC or any other fighting organization?
because i want to become a fighter but i also want to have a good amount of money.
It is an impossible question to answer with access to a fighter’s contract. Fighters are paid a contracted amount to show and usually a win bonus. In addition fighter’s have an opportunity to earn bonuses such as KO of the Night, Fight of the Night, or Submission of the Night. These bonuses are beyond the fighter’s contract. In addition, the UFC is famous for giving out “locker room bonuses”. These bonuses are for fighters who the UFC feels fought beyond their contract (Keith Jardine said he bought a house with the locker room bonus he received for beating Chuck Liddell). Finally, organizations give top star a percentage of the Pay Per View buys meaning the more people who buy the event, the more money the fighter makes.
All of that money comes from the organization but fighters also earn substantial income from sponorships. A company will pay the fighter to have the fighter wear their shirt, put their logo on their shorts or banners, or handling/drink their product following a fight. Now all of this does not include any extra money paid for things like artwork, video games, etc the UFC may wish to liscense.
For UFC 108, average salary based only on the fighter’s contracted pay and win bonus was just over $35,000 per fighter…again this does not include sponsorships or any of the other income I mentioned.
