now there is barnette, yvel and aleks(when cleared) who r probly gunna comme to america. where do u think they go and do u think dana should try to get atleast 2 of them?
I’d like to see a juice-free Barnett compete. Fedor is still the #1 Heavyweight in the world. Cung Le can hang with the best Middleweights in the world, easily. Not saying he’d destroy Silva (at all), but that’s the MOST interesting Middleweight match up MMA can offer. Anyone who doubts that needs to learn more about MMA. UFC has greater depth and more top tier fighters in all weight classes… period. But their HW class has most of their top dogs sick or injured… yes, the UFC is the biggest show in town, but you can’t ONLY watch the UFC and ONLY know about their fighters (and still consider yourself a true MMA fan)… great big world out there. You raise some good points, and Fedor is still the best heavyweight out there. I’d love to see him in the UFC, but that’s not going to happen anytime soon. Guys, Carwin is still untested, the potential’s there, but he hasn’t had a battle yet. Cain? Same thing. Dos Santos? Same. They need to fight the top tier guys and see what they’re really made of… I don’t doubt their potential, but until it’s tested… it’s still just hype and talk. Lesnar’s potential is limitless, and his work ethic is second to none… but he’s still not complete as a fighter… yet. He’s always going to be bigger and stronger… and as soon as his technique catches up to those athletic attributes… he’s going to be very, very scary for anyone who steps in the cage with him… but he’s not there yet, he’s just not. His speed and strength/ leverage advantages are winning his fights, once his technical know how is up there too? Wow… like I said scary.
I for one am glad to see other companies putting on good shows with great fighters, it helps the sport grow. It will also help the UFC not become complacent with their shows, they will always have the roster depth, but they still need to give us as fans the BEST fights possible. (For example, they should have Anderson fight a Marquardt, or a Dan Henderson again… one time wins don’t clean out a division). Lyoto vs. Couture, a bigger stronger wrestler would really test that takedown defense. Get GSP in there again with a Fitch, or bring in somebody new with huge potential (Shields maybe?). Get Lesnar in there with somebody who has the best jiujitsu (Mir is good, but even his coach said his sub skills aren’t the best). Let the fans see great fights from everywhere, not just one company. Don’t let these UFC fanboys get to you… you made good points with this question.
