Skeletal metal is hoping to gain a similar chokehold over the mixed martial arts jewelry market, and is shooting through the ranks with sponsorship and general popularity. Skeletal Metal is the brainchild of Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Mike Crovetti.
Dr. Crovetti discovered the idea when he used a reconstruction plate or “recon plate” and bent it into the shape of a ring. As he wore it, people were drawn to the ring and asked where they could get a ring like it. Today, Skeletal Metal has expanded their MMA jewelry offerings to include not only rings, but bracelets, necklaces and earrings.
It remains to be seen whether MMA Jewelry will experience the same meteoric rise that MMA clothing has. One thing that is indisputable is that as long as fans have an appetite for all things MMA, we will continue to see new products like Skeletal Metal to help satisfy the fans appetite.
