Why all the Hype of UFC?

I have watched several matches now… Both on Spike TV and PPV. I know people keep mentioning all the different fighting styles… However 90% of the matches end up in a wrestling match on the ground with both guys resting. Sure it has its flashy moments… I know the sport is new… And its up and coming…

But I would still rather watch a great 12 round boxing match with 2 guys going at it non stop then 2 guys on the mat wrestling.

I don’t mean to bad mouth the sport… They are talented fighters… Im just curious in other peoples thoughts…

(One thing… Before people say that Boxing is fixed… Please keep in mind that Boxing has been around for a long long time… UFC is new and when more people become involved and more money is involved more fights that don’t end in KO’s and go to decision will have similar results as boxing. Spike TV has a couple the other day that should have gone the other way.)

i am a fan of MMA and in particular the ground game, i know that it looks like guys are just wrestling around and not really doing naything but there is a lot of technique involved in whats going on, positioning of the hips, hand control, underhooks, establishing or passing gaurd. boxers do alot of other things than punch, footwork, head movement, and deffending with the gloves, that is all a big part of boxing, just like all that “wrestling” is a big part of fighting on the ground, its not that you have to like it, but its part of the game, and also some MMA fights are boring especially when you have out of shape unskilled guys, but i have seen many a boxing match be boring as well, i am happy that you didnt compare it to the WWE though
