MMA Fight of the Year?
Just wondering what do you think the best MMA Fight of the year for 2008 was? I know there is still UFC 92 and a few other events still to come but I am just wondering your opinion?
Personally I think it was UFC 86 Jackson vs Griffin and yes Griffin clearly won. Everyone says Jackson won, I just think they were a bunch of Pride FC fans who were pissed off.
Some other big fights were St. Pierre vs Fitch UFC 87, Faber vs Pulver WEC 34, Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock Strike Force, Fedor vs Tim Sylvia Affliction: Banned. There are many more, I am wondering other peoples opinion.
My opinion is jackson and griffin. I loved that fight and was excited the whole time.
Other people out there seem to think alvarez and hansen in dream was a good one. I personally didn’t feel excited watching it. The crowds in japan are a lot more quiet than those in america which takes away from the atmosphere.
Miguel Torres and Yoshiro Maeda was a war aswell.
Same with fitch and gsp. Fitch shown great heart in that fight and GSP has shown he’s gone to another level entirely, though he seems to have some problems with the smaller strikers i.e serra and bj penn. I know he won the rematch woith serra and won the first fight with penn but thats cause he used his wrestling after being out striked. The same in the rematch with serra he didn’t want nothing to do with the stand up game in their second fight.
I personally cannot wait for wandy vs rampage 3 that fight is gonna be sick. Jacksons improved and wandy’s been doing that psycho hypoxia training so can’t wait to see that.
